"New Man Magazine," a national Christian men's periodical produced by Strang Communications in Lake Mary, Florida, is endorsing Governor Mike Huckabee for president. The magazine has a circulation of 100,000. The July/August 2007 issue states, "...when it comes to character, experience and the qualities of a great leader, Mike Huckabee has them. "
The article goes on to say, "His proven ability to cast a compelling vision, as he did while governor, that transcends party, ideology and class might enable America to unite and begin to heal, an especially important goal at this point in our history. Optimistic leadership could help restore people's faith in America's future. Huckabee also possesses the essential qualities for being the type of commander-in-chief America will no doubt need in the next president. "
The magazine's editor Stephen Strang writes in the issue, "A great deal is at stake over who wins the presidency in 2008. There are those running for president who do not share our values and, if elected, will contribute to the continual moral downward spiral. We want to start a new movement of godly men committed to making a difference by banding together to support for president "one of our own," a man with great credentials and leadership skills.... Mike Huckabee, a former governor of Arkansas, would make a great president...."

National Home School Group Endores Mike Huckabee
The leading home school advocacy group in the nation has endorsed Governor Huckabee for President:
Mike Huckabee, as governor, was the first to appoint a homeschooler to the Arkansas State Board of Education, and to our knowledge the first to do so in any state. He is adamantly opposed to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and is committed to stopping the erosion of parental rights. He is pro-life. He supports traditional marriage. He believes that the Internal Revenue Service should be abolished and replaced with the Fair Tax--a move that we strongly support because it would greatly benefit homeschooling families. He believes and is willing to say that Islamic extremism needs to be understood as a theologically driven threat. He believes that America must be strong, but should never be perceived as a bully. He believes that our borders must be secured not only from illegal immigration but from the growing trend among American judges of "illegally importing" international law into our American judicial systems.

The Lakeland Ledger's Religion Editor Notes Huckabee Authenticity
Cary McMullen, the Religion Editor for The Lakeland Ledger, took note of Governor Huckabee's recent supurb debate performances:
"Huckabee, of course, is the former governor of Arkansas and a former Southern Baptist pastor. He has some interesting perspectives that distinguish him from the other candidates, especially on health care and education, fair taxes and corporate greed....Personally, although my views don't match Huckabee's exactly on evolution, I thought it was one of the best answers on the topic I've heard any politician give. Sen. John McCain and some other candidates came out and said so, too."

A New Voice for Social Conservative Evangelicals
Governor Mike Huckabee has been effectively breaking the sterotype the media has of Christian evangelicals in politics. It is refreshing to have a visionary leader out front offering solid public policy proposals from a social conservative position. The media is facinated with Huckabee because he provides strong, persuasive arguements on any topic with a gracious tone - rather than canned, recycled answers.
In a recent article, Steven Tomma outlines how Huckabee is emerging as a new voice for social conservatives in the political arena. Check it out:
Faith moves Huckabee in ways different from other Christian conservatives

Huckabee Delievers Health Care Address in Tampa
Governor Mike Huckabee was in Tampa on Friday to address a summit sponsored by the University of South Florida Health Department. Below are some highlights from the Tampa Tribune coverage and CLICK HERE for the full story.
He's a former governor of Arkansas and a dark-horse candidate for the Republican nomination. He's a social conservative and an anti-tax, pro-defense hawk, but probably best known for efforts to attack obesity as governor.
Today's children are the first in the nation's history "who are not expected to live as long as their parents and grandparents."
That will destroy the productivity of workers while blowing health care costs through the roof, he contends. Already the highest in the industrialized world at 17 percent of the gross domestic product, U.S. health care costs are likely to go to 20 percent in less than 10 years, double those of most developed nations.
"It would not just change the health of America, it would change the economy of America," he said. "If we don't look at this issue as the most serious internal issue in America today, the reality is, economically, we have no chance of surviving what we face."
